Real Talk With Reginald D - Merchandise

Welcome To Real Talk with Reginald D. I'm your host, Reginald D. On today's episode, I have Kristen Wambach. Kristen is an Oregon farm girl who stumbled upon the mystical nature of Christ, which I can't wait to hear about. Kristen is also an author, podcaster, entrepreneur, and an ordained pastor that helps people live spiritually. Brave. Welcome to the show, Kristen. Kristen Wambach: Thank you for having me. Hello. Reginald D: Thank you. Thank you so much for coming on the show. I'm excited about it. Kristen Wambach: We're going to have a good time. Reginald D: Yes. So I like to start out with one question with my guest. Can you tell us a little bit about your childhood and where you grew up? Kristen Wambach: I was raised at the end of the Oregon trail on a 92 acre farm. I have three brothers, I have four sons, and I've been married to my husband Don for 42 years. I have been surrounded by testosterone for a very long time. That's all I know. Reginald D: Yeah, yeah. So the farm, you had all eggs of land. What was on the farm? Kristen Wambach: Well, my father, who's a grocery man, was a gentleman farmer. They raised Herefords and Black Angus cows and purebred Arabian horses. Yep. Reginald D: Okay. Okay. Kristen Wambach: We cut hay and put up hay in the summer and. And had a pond and lived on a gravel road. And so I know how to get my fingers dirty. Reginald D: I call that the good life. Kristen Wambach: Yes, yes, yes. Reginald D: So, Chris, you described your journey as transformation on steroids or experience flip the switch and change what you used to say yes to, spiritually and mentally. Kristen Wambach: Okay, so let me see. I'm 30 years old, walk through my 20s, never really asking God for his opinion. I'm married, have two sons already, and I discovered that I was kind of a broken individual. So faithfully, Holy Spirit pursued me, as Holy Spirit does, until we begin to listen. And from that journey of listening, I met Holy Spirit, which was not part of my evangelical generational background. A relationship with Holy Spirit, the baptism, Holy Spirit that just wasn't there. So it was a new discovery. So from there, Holy Spirit healed my heart, filled my heart, changed everything. And I'm seeking and on fire and loving God. And then all of a sudden, I think I'm about 31, 32, and God opens my spiritual eyes and changed everything. Changed everything. When you can see and develop your spiritual eyes in the Spirit, everything is just different. Scripture's different. How you pray is different. How you incorporate the angelic in your life, how you perceive him as a risen king seated at the right hand of the Father. And now you can actually perceive that. You can perceive Yourself with Him. You perceive yourself seated in heavenly places, things that Scripture has told us about. But now my eyes are open, and Holy Spirit is teaching me how to develop that. So things that I knew from my evangelical growing up have totally flipped. And so I began this journey of discovering the faith of my fathers and then all of a sudden, asking truth himself, which is Jesus Christ, is this true? Is this true? And so many things were not true. Reginald D: Wow. Kristen Wambach: So he literally did. Just changed everything. And at times it was extremely overwhelming. At times it was painful. It was lonely. I was misinterpreted, misdiagnosed. I mean, label. I mean, yes, it wasn't very fun at times. But what I learned, and am learning continuing on the journey, is that he leads us into all truth. Reginald D: Exactly. And I think the biggest thing is having the personal relationship, not the religion relationship. Kristen Wambach: Right. Reginald D: You know, the personal relationship will show you the way to open up your eyes. Kristen Wambach: So the last 15 years, I have been teaching people how to hear God, hear from God, perceive God, open up their spiritual eyes. And that is my story in a nutshell. I'm sticking to it. Reginald D: So, Kristen, you talked about living spiritually brave. For someone listening who feels distant from God, disappointed, or stuck in survival mode, what does living spiritually brave practically look like? Kristen Wambach: There have been many times where I have felt disconnected or distant from God. And in and through relationship, I learned over time that that wasn't the truth. It wasn't truth. I could never outrun God. If I was misbehaving, I could never disassociate myself from Him. He will never stop speaking to me. And it's through relationship that I learned that. I learned to identify what was a lie, what was a feeling, and talk to Holy Spirit. If I'm feeling this way, then acknowledge the feeling of I feel disconnected or. Or I'm not understanding or this is really hard. But I had to honor him in me and address the feelings or the misconceptions that might be going around in my head. Reginald D: Yeah. Can I say one thing about myself? You know, I felt distanced from God at one point in my life because I was stuck in the grind mode. You know, I moved away, had a new career, and then trying to make things happen and do all of that. And, man, I was just trying to grind and get all I can get and be successful. But then, you know, after it all settled down, I was like, whoa, you know, I'm burnt out, I'm tired, and I'm like, you know, I don't got so far away from God. So I had to reel that thing back in. Kristen Wambach: But Holy Spirit is so faithful. I mean, Jesus is walking with us every step of the way. And there are days where, you know, we can get caught up and busying and forget to actually check in, say hello or thank you for being here, or oh, I'm sorry, I got busy here for a minute. Let's just calm back down. Let's get on the same page, the same frequency and move through this day because he made the day for us. He knows every portion of our day. He knows every portion of our stuck and why we might be stuck or we might not be stuck. It benefits me to speak with him. Reginald D: Right, Exactly. Exactly. So you believe we can design our lives, relationships, finances, self care, from divine of who we are. How does someone begin to discover their own divine blueprint first as what we. Kristen Wambach: Were discussing in a conversation, Inviting him into the conversation, inviting yourself into his conversation about you, as always, the first way to start a day, the first way to start a life. It's the first thing to do on any journey that we feel called to, to move into. I mean, if it's finances or you're an entrepreneur. I have five online stores and Holy Spirit is so simple and so practical that the things that benefit me, that benefit us, can benefit other people and there's work involved. But it's not difficult when you're in communication with God. Now, my husband and I on the journey way back when, right there in that mix of discovering God, allowing Holy Spirit to come into my life and cleanse my life, we lost our auto repair business, lost our farm, and none of that felt good. It was really, really difficult. But it was interesting. It was right there in that mix of surrender, you know, so surrendering myself, surrendering all those broken parts of me, and allowing Holy Spirit to have a conversation with me about the broken parts. Reginald D: Right? That's the key. That relationship is something else. So you've coached you pastor, mentor, and guided so many people in your experience. What gift do most people fail to recognize in themselves? Kristen Wambach: How good God is? How good God is. I fail. We fail to realize that Jesus and us came from the same womb. Reginald D: Born. Kristen Wambach: From the same womb of God. If you think about it, it's easy for us as women if you think about our children in our womb. So in God's womb, Jesus was there. We're all in the same womb, in the same place and birth from the same place that Jesus was. And God lives in us. 100% of God, the same 100% of God that Live in Jesus Christ. Same amount is in us. So I constantly ask myself, when a situation or circumstance comes, even if it's a simple feeling of feeling uncomfortable or feeling unsafe or what am I going to do? I always ask myself, wow, how good is God in this situation? Reginald D: Yes. Kristen Wambach: And 99% of the time, God is so much better than my current bandwidth about him. Reginald D: Yeah. He says, you know, I thought it was not as thoughts of ways and not his ways, you know, so that's what it is. So let me ask you this, Kristen. So many people have been disappointed by God. You know, I grew up in a legacy of pastors with my grandfather's pastor, my uncle's pastor. My grandfather built his own churches and all we did was go to church. But now, as we move forward in life, you hear people say that they're disappointed by God or they're hurt by church or feel spiritually disconnected. How can someone overcome that? Kristen Wambach: I'm going to go all the way back to the beginning of our conversation and where I said that I came from. Being surrounded by testosterone, which a majority of the church is surrounded and led by testosterone. Men, women, and I understand that we as the church don't identify each and every person in the fullness that God made each and every one of us to be, and the giftings and the freedom to be ourselves. I understand about being hurt because where I came from, it was okay if I was in the choir, it was okay if I was a worship leader. It was okay if I led women's ministry, it was okay if I did the nursery, it was okay if I led the youth ministry, but it wasn't okay for me to stand behind the pulpit. Reginald D: Yeah. Kristen Wambach: And that didn't feel good. And. But Jesus leads us into all truth. And I never felt like I was less than or more than. I always felt like I was apart. And if I keep inside of me the wonderful glories that grace has allowed me to experience, what's the purpose of the gift if I don't open my mouth and I share it? Because it's. It's a gift. Having your spiritual gifts, your spiritual perceptions develop. That's for everybody. I'm not just a nut, fruit and flake. I'm not just spiritually gifted. I'm not just a prophetess with an ordained office. No, no, no, no. It is for everybody. And I remember sitting in the pew. I've been in so many services where all of a sudden you're sitting there at church and all these angels are coming in to the service and People who are oblivious, we need to know this. They come for a purpose. They come to help and uplift and support and heal and guide. But if we remain in a place of blindness, whether the blindness is by choice, whether the blindness is because doctrines say that we need to be blind, or are we going to be brave and believe God and let him lead us into some things that maybe we don't understand, but there's understanding there. Reginald D: Man, that's so well put. It's so well put. And here's the thing, and I want to touch on this a little bit, especially with you being a pastor. You know, people, you know, get hurt, go through hurt and things like that and have to deal with the biggest thing that comes after hurt, which is forgiveness. Why is forgiveness so important in spiritual growth and emotional healing? Kristen Wambach: Well, the first person that I find is the best to forgive is myself, because I'm either pigeonholed in the corner and I refuse to deal with whatever is uncomfortable, whatever is hurting me, or I can be brave and realize how many times Jesus has forgiven me. It's another one of those 99.5% times when somebody does something unbecoming or mistreats me. I can go back and. And remind myself, oh, you remember when you did that to somebody, and it just makes you love him so much more because you can remember what you've been forgiven from. And that's the place that you start, what have I been forgiven from? And that empowers me to love people when they're unbecoming, when they're not nice. Years ago, I worked really, really, really hard to get in the church. I worked really, really hard to learn and study and. And prophesy on Q and lay hands on the sick with some good testimonies. I worked really, really hard to get in the church and be part of the church and to be who I heard God called me to be in the church. And after those years of working really, really hard to be that person, what I thought that person was to be, Jesus and I were out on the walk and he kind of went, huh? He goes, do you know what? God's presence was never inside the camp. The tantamining has always been outside the camp. Reginald D: Right? You're right. You're right. That's why so many people miss it that way. So what advice would you give someone who feels like they've been spiritually stuck surfing the same mountain and repeating the same patterns? Kristen Wambach: I think I might rearrange the word from spiritually because our spirits are never stuck. Our spirits were never polluted. Our spirits have always been pure. Our spirits aren't prostituted. Our spirits are always pure because that is our oneness with him. So if I feel stuck, I have to look at what my mind is spending time on, what my calendar is spending time on, and the choices of the people that are around me. So it comes down to. It comes to the boundaries. What have I allowed to be around me? What is the conversation that I allow people to speak around me on a consistent basis, and that gets me unstuck. Being in conversation with the Lord gets me unstuck. But there's a flip side. While we might use the word for unstuck because you ask him, how come I'm not moving forward? How come this won't get out of my way? You know, we're just pushing and pushing and asking and asking, and it's good to ask and it's good to listen. But sometimes, maybe it's a season we're supposed to remain in because that's where we're going to grow. He is more concerned about my growth, about your growth, than he is about our comfort. Reginald D: Yes, yes. That takes to my next question. You mix spirituality with entrepreneurship. Workflow meets life flow. What does it look like to build a business with God? Not just for God. Kristen Wambach: Exciting, fun, difficult, a lot of work. Simple everything. When you say workflow, life flow, I come back to the root of how did I learn how to hear? God was through journaling. So I wrote things down. And every time I had a perception or heard something or a scripture was brought to mind, I'd write it down. And that place of honor grew. When you write things down, I mean, God honors that. You're listening. In Malachi, it says that God has a book of remembrance. When Jeremiah was. God was talking to Jeremiah. And God kept asking Jeremiah, what do you see? What do you see? And Jeremiah responded back, this is what you see. Well, I wrote it down. So going from being a student of writing it down, and then I wrote down in my night season. So I believe God was always trying to talk to me. And it's that place of honor that God is always trying to talk to you. And I always, yes. And so I honored that, and I began to write it down. So when I began to write it down, then my dreams started to take shape and framework and going from being a student of journaling, that's what created the workflow. The life flow was kind of like, wow, look at all these templates that I built. These would help other people. That was the Beginning, these words written down filled my first book. So God called me to be an author before he healed my dyslexia. Reginald D: Wow. Kristen Wambach: So dyslexia, you know, it's kind of like words and numbers and reading were so uncomfortable. Yet God called me to be a writer and an author. Go figure. Reginald D: Yes. I really like that. So what's your favorite story from the unfinished book? And why does that moment still speak to your heart today? Kristen Wambach: Favorite story in the unfinished book. Oh, okay. I haven't told this one for a while. It's good. Oh. Makes me smile and laugh. So years ago, I went to a women's ministry at a very popular church that we all know in Reading, California. Love it. Love the chapel, Love the papal. And so then the pastor's wife, she's one of the pastors, got up and told this story. So this is right in the cusp of feeling misunderstood. I can see in the spirit, but I feel misunderstood. And I don't have any people around me that I can talk to him about, because people don't understand. I was right in the season. So I went with, like, 20 women to this women's. This women's conference there in Redding, California. It was wonderful. And the pastor's wife got up and told this story about one of their students, their ministry students from the school. And she told the story about being in Moriah Chapel. And the student woke up in the morning and said, God said, I want you to go to Moriah Chapel. And I want you to say, wakey, wakey. And so she got up, she's telling me the testimony, and she went up and went to Moriah Chapel, which was the birth of the revival there in Wales. And she's sitting in the chapel, and it's got, you know, a few people in it. And her orders from God were to say, wakey, wakey three times. This is how I'm hearing the testimony from the ministry student who had shared it and now the pastor sharing it. So she tells the story about Mariah Chapel, that finally she said, wakey, wakey, kind of under her breath. And then Holy Spirit says, is that all you got? Is that really how hungry you are? Is that it? So finally, you know, she just got brave and she screamed, wakey, wakey, wakey three times. And then the angel from the Whale's revival appeared. Oh, my goodness. Now here I am in a women's conference, and I hear a story like this, and I'm a little bit outside the box, and I'm pretty bold. What do you think the first Thing is that I'm going to do when I get home from this conference. Reginald D: What's that? Kristen Wambach: So we were living in downtown in Corvallis, Oregon in an 1873 Victorian home. It was gorgeous. And all the whole time in the van I'm thinking, where can I do this? Where can I do this? Where can I do this? Oh, I could go up on the widow's, walk on top of the house house and do this by that. No, my neighbor probably had call the cops on me, so. Because I'm gonna go yell wakey wakey somewhere, okay? Because you know God, if he did it for one person, he'll do it for another. So I get home and I walk in and I throw my luggage in there, my husband and my boys are there and I go, hi everybody, I'm gonna go debrief a little bit and go for a walk. And it's like 10 o' clock at night. And my third born son goes, just a minute mom, I want you to go for a walk by yourself. He grabs his skateboard and I head for the football field at the high school. That'd be a little bit of privacy and you could be noisy there. So we get over to the local football field which is about five blocks away. And just so happens the gate is open. So hello, Here we go, 50 yard line, right smack in the center. And my son goes, mom, you just go ahead. Because my children were kind of used to me being interesting, you know, praying for people in the grocery store and just being interesting. So he goes, mom, I'm going to practice my skateboard out here on the track while you go in and whatever you're going to do. So I walk out there and there's nobody there, right? And this whole football field with the stadium and it's nobody there. And I walk out to the 50 yard line, this bull, fire breathing woman for God. And I scream at the top of my lungs, wakey wakey three times. Wakey wakey three times. And then all of a sudden the hair on the back of my neck just rose up. This huge angel, taller than the H stand the goalpost at the football field, full armored, kind of look like a samurai kind of guy, fully armored just appears. And every hair on the back, my neck, my body is just standing right up. And all of a sudden I'm kind of shaken. I went, oh, what's, what, what's next? What's that? Oh yeah, ask him what his name is. You know, I, I, I don't know how to do this stuff. I'M just bold enough to say, God, there is more for me. So here's this huge angel in this samurai armor, has a sword in his. She look like he could cut my head off. And here's this goofy mom of four sons in Corvallis, Oregon, in the middle of the football field, 50 yard line, yelling, wakey, wakey. And all of a sudden I go, what's your name? His name was Cason. And I went, oh, talk about a perfect name for one of God's angels and his armies. Cason, meaning it's the armored vehicle that carries the armor of an army, the Caisson. And I went, oh, so that was just the cool thing. I was just on cloud nine. This is just cloud ten. Oh, my gosh. God, look, this works. Oh, shoot. So about four weeks go by, I'm still just like really on fire and just, ah, there's angels, there's guardian angels, there's ministry angels, there's healing angels. This is the cool, coolest thing. And all of a sudden, you know, I'm taking a day off and I'm in a driving in my little 19 whatever, 89 Saab convertible, going downtown Corvallis, it's a nice day on. I got my tunes in, they're cranked up, and my little dog in the back. And I'm driving along like this, and all of a sudden I go by the historic courthouse, and all of a sudden I see this very senior man and he's dragging one of those huge crosses that are on a wheel, you know, like he's dragging this cross and my dinger's going, bink, bink, bink, bink. Like it's going like, how many times do you see this? You know, some man dragging across? So I go around the block, park right in front of the. The capitol, and I get out and I said, okay, God. And so I sit down with this senior man that had drug this huge cross with a wheel on it. And so I sit down, I start chatting with him and. And he tells me he's a retired police chief and he has gone and prayed over every courthouse in Oregon. Talk about timing. And all of a sudden I'm chatting with him. We're just like tender in spirits. And I said, you know, Kevin, can I help you pray? And he said, yeah. And so we went up on the steps of the historic courthouse and, you know, we start praying for our country, praying for our county and the city and the people. And all of a sudden, I look at him, I go, I'm gonna yell something a Little bit loud here for a minute. He goes, you go for it. Just go for it. So I yelled that wakey, wakey, wagy again right there on the courthouse. And it's noontime, right smack in the busy city streets, People walking outside there, cars everywhere. And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs. And all of a sudden, another one of those armored angels just like steps through the veil. And he's got his hand on his sword right next to the. On a sheath. Thank God it's not drawn. And he looks at me and goes, oh, I heard about you. Because he was in the same order as the same angel that I spoke to on the football field. Reginald D: Wow, that's amazing. That is amazing. Kristen Wambach: That's a favorite story that's in my book now. I have since learned that I don't have to yell wakey, wakey anymore. You can have an audience with the angels of God. But wow, that was amazing. You talk about reiterating that God is moving in your spirit city and in your county when you, you. You get to see his angels on cue. At least there's a big dude kind, right? Reginald D: That's awesome. So, Kristen, lastly, how can listeners purchase your book, listen to your podcast, or follow you on social media? Kristen Wambach: Okay, so my book, the Unfinished Book. And when you go look at it, you can find it, Amazon Barnes and Noble. You could purchase it from me if you'd like to, and I'll sign it for you, but the F is turned around. So you already know my secret, that God called me and I was dyslexic. So that's why the F is turned around. The Unfinished Book. You can find it, Amazon, Kindle. You can find me@kristenwambach.com and just like you, I have a podcast called Interviewing Jesus. Reginald D: There you have it. Kristen won back. Thank you so much. It's been absolutely amazing. Your story is amazing. It's amazing. And I thank you so much for taking your time out to share your story with us and your life. Kristen Wambach: Thank you.
