Welcome to Real Talk With Reginald D's motivational coaching question and answer segment. The place where we rise through the noise, renew our mindset, and walk boldly in your purpose. I'm your motivational coach, Reginald Dee. Now on today's episode, we're about to dive deep into something that I know so many of you are feeling right now. Overwhelmed. I received a question from one of my listeners in the States, Reginald Dean. I'm feeling so overwhelmed. I'm trying to stay positive, but life just keeps coming at me from every direction. Bills, work, relationships, my mind. It's all too much. How do I keep my peace when I feel like I'm drowning? Now, fam, if that's you today, I hear you. Because I've been there. There are seasons where life feels like a flood. And no matter how hard you try to stay afloat, the water keeps rising. But let me tell you this. You're not weak because you're weary. You're human. And even more than that, you're loved by a God who never leaves you in the storm alone. So today, we're going to slow it down. We're going to talk through what to do when life feels like it's too much. Because sometimes when you can't find your footing, that's when God's about to show you what it means to stand on your faith. Now, let's get into it. Overwhelmed doesn't mean you're feeling. It means you're feeling. See, overwhelmed happens when your responsibilities start outpacing your capacity and start thinking everything depends on you. You wake up already behind. You start rushing before you even pray. You start doing more, but feeling less. That's how burnout creeps in. That's how anxiety builds. That's how you start asking God, where are you in all of this? But I want you to hear me. Sometimes overwhelm isn't punishment. It's protection. It's God saying, you've been carrying this too long in your own strength. Hand it back to me. Because here's the truth. You can't pour from an empty cup. And God never asks you to. Psalms 46, chapter 10, verse says, Be still and know that I am God. Now, that doesn't mean be lazy. That means stop trying to control everything and remember, you're not the source. He is. If you're overwhelmed, it's time to do three things. Pause. Pray. Prioritize. Pause to breathe. Pray to realign. Prioritize what actually matters. Not everything that's urgent is important, and not everything important needs to Happen today. Let's talk about pressure. Pressure says if I don't do it, it won't get done. Pressure says I don't have time to rest. Pressure says everyone's counting on me. But purpose says God's got me. See, some of y' all living under a man made pressure instead of divine purpose. You are chasing deadlines that God never designed for you. You're carrying expectations that he never placed on you. You weren't called to be everything to everyone. You called to be obedient to the one know. I remember a season in my life. Man, I was trying to be a superman. Especially when I was running this outreach ministry. I was giving and giving and giving, pouring into people, pouring into people. And at the end of the day, nobody was pouring into me. As I kept on working it and trying to make things happen and trying to help people and do the things that God wanted me to do. I ended up burnt out. And one night, I sat in my car outside my house and just broke down, tears rolling down my face. And I said, God, I can't do this anymore. And he whispered, good, because I never asked you to do it without me. See, sometimes God has to let you hit emotional exhaustion. So you'll stop living off adrenaline and start living in your anointing. When you feel overwhelmed, ask yourself this. Am I operating from assignment or anxiety? If it's anxiety, pause. If it's assignment, proceed. That one question will save your peace. Now, let's be real. Even when you pray, sometimes life still feels foggy. You're doing all the right things, but you can't see the outcome. That's when you got to remember this. Faith doesn't eliminate the fog. It gives you courage to walk through it. The Bible says in Isaiah 43rd chapter, second verse, when you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go to rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. Notice. It doesn't say if, it says when. That means stones are a part of the process, but so is survival. You may not feel like it, but you're actually growing in the fall. Because faith grows best in the unknown. When you can't see your next step, but you still choose to believe, that's when heaven takes notice. Overwhelm can either break you or it can build your spiritual endurance. Now listen to me carefully. If you want peace, you got to learn the art of release. You can't heal while holding on to what's heavy. You can't rest while rehearsing what's wrong. Some of you are overwhelmed. Not because of what's happening today, but because you're still carrying yesterday, you're still replaying that conversation, still trying to fix that person, still trying to prove something to people who already made up their minds about you. Let it go. Matthew 11:28, verse says, Jesus said, come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Not more work, not more worry. Rest. That means you don't have to earn peace. You just have to exchange your pain for his presence. So today I want you to pray like this. God, I release what I can't control. I give you what I can't carry, and I trust you with what I can't comprehend. That prayer right there can reset your entire spirit. Once you release, you got to rebuild your rhythm. Life has rhythms, physically, emotional, and spiritual. And when those rhythms get disrupted, you feel out of sync. Here's a simple framework I teach. It's called rest. R Realign your mornings. Start your day with gratitude, not your phone. E. Establish boundaries. You can't say yes to everything and expect peace. S. Simplify your schedule. Everything good isn't God's timing. T. Talk to God before you talk to people. That's how you take your power back. Overwhelm. Thrives in disorder. Peace. Lives in discipline. Even Jesus withdrew from the crowds to pray. If the Son of God needed solitude, why do we think we can skip it? Protect your peace like it's part of your purpose. Because it is. Family, I want to leave you with. Family. I want to leave you with this thought. You can't control the storm, but you can control your stance in it. You might feel overwhelmed, but you're not overcome. You might feel stressed, but you're still standing. You might feel exhausted, but that's because you've been faithful, not because you failed. So here's your challenge this week. Each morning before you pick up your phone, say out loud, today, I refuse to carry what God has already covered. That's it. Speak it. You'll feel something shift. That's all for today's episode. Famous. Now let me remind you that you don't have to have it all together to walk in purpose. You just have to keep showing up, keep trusting God, and keep moving forward. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time. Because overwhelmed doesn't define you. Overcoming does. Now, don't forget to send your questions to me via email or rsherman@realtalkwithreginaldd.com or visit my website at realtalkwithreginaldd.com. by the way, you'll be able to find all the links in the show notes as well. See you next time.
