What Are You Truly Looking Forward To? (Motivational Speech)
In this episode, Reginald D dives deep into the importance of looking forward in life. He challenges you to reflect on what you are truly looking forward to and emphasizes that many people live day-to-day without any aspirations, which can lead to stagnation and dissatisfaction.
Reginald D also discusses the difference between looking forward to something, which brings joy and anticipation, and moving forward towards achieving those dreams, which often requires leaving behind comfort zones and confronting fears. It's crucial to prepare yourself for your dreams and desires, as if they are already out there waiting for you.

Welcome to Real Talk with Reginald D. I'm your host, Reginald D. On today's episode, I'm going to talk about what are you looking forward to? Let me ask you this. What are you looking forward to? What are you looking forward to when it comes to your life? Think about that. Let me be truthful with you. Most people don't think about that. Most people just do every day. They don't look forward to anything. And truthfully, that is a bad place to be in. So you have to look forward to something before you can get it. When you look forward to something, then that means that you expect it. You have to start looking forward to greater things in your life. Stop being stagnant. You don't deserve that. It's time for you to start looking forward to your dreams and your desires. That's what's going to activate you to achieve them. You should be looking forward to the next chapter in your life. See, the reason you don't look forward to it is because you haven't prepared for it. Let me ask you a question. When are you going to start preparing yourself for your dreams and your desires? Your dreams and desires are already out there. You just haven't prepared and equipped yourself to achieve them. That's how people stay stuck. They don't have anything to look forward to. Not having something to look forward to will suck the life out of you. It's time for you to start walking in your purpose. It's time to start being who you were created to be. Now you have to understand that looking forward to something is different than moving forward towards something. Looking forward to something makes you happy. It makes you feel good. It triggers your emotions, but not your reality. But when you start moving forward to achieve something, or towards something, it triggers your reality. And your reality triggers you. And it usually triggers your fear. Because moving forward often means leaving something behind. And it's usually a part of you that you have to leave behind. That part of you that you have lived with for so long. That part of you that made you complacent. That comfortable you. See, the reason you haven't achieved your dreams and desires is because you won't leave you. It's time for you to start looking forward to greater things in your life. Look forward to it, but stay in the moment. Because the moments are going to get you to what you are looking forward to if you handle them right. In order to keep looking forward to the things that you desire for your life, you have to train your mind to stay positive in every situation. You have to see the good in every situation. In order to move into who you were created to be, you must be honest and eyeball your soul. You have to be truthful to yourself before you can look forward to and move forward towards your dreams and desires. I really started achieving my dreams and goals once I began to have a relationship with myself. Let me ask you a question. Do you have a relationship with yourself, or do you all just live together? This is how you can tell a lot about yourself. How do you behave when you're alone? Are you a productive person when you're alone, or are you a lazy person, or should I say a person that just wants to kick back and relax when you're alone? Be honest with yourself. If you are a productive person when you're alone, then you are going to achieve way more than a person that's always relaxing when they're alone. Let me ask you this, what do you spend your money on besides bills? What you spend your money on is a direct reflection of where your values are. What does your spending habit say about your values? Do you know when you have become proud of yourself? You have become proud of yourself when you can have a conversation and tell somebody who you are without telling them what you do. So many people define themselves on what they do for a living, et cetera. but don't define themselves on who they really are. Most of the time you can determine who you are by how you act at a place where nobody knows you. What you look forward to should be a reflection of who you are. I need you to look for the things that will anchor you and keep you looking forward. Allow your dreams to keep you looking forward. You have to keep looking forward to achieving your dreams and desires and don't quit or give up. The more you achieve, the more you will look forward to it. You just got to put in your mind that quitting is not an option. Quitting is like drugs. It's addictive. The more you do it, the more you're going to keep doing it. You have to detox yourself from that quitting spirit that's inside of you. You got to get it out of you if you want to achieve what you desire for your life. You got to get that quitting spirit out of you if you want to look forward to the greater things in life. Because if you don't, then you will never achieve your dreams. I need you to imagine this. Imagine living a life for all these years and never achieve your dreams or desires. Imagine living a life that you never achieved the purpose that God created you for. Out of all the hours in the day, all the days in the year, and all the years you have lived, and you still never walked in your purpose and achieved your dreams. How would that make you feel? It would make me feel awful. It will make me feel as if I wasted my life. It will make me feel like I have thrown my life away because I didn't accomplish what I was put on this earth to do. And I can hear God saying that I created you and put you on this earth to do one thing and you didn't get it done. You did everything else, but walked in your purpose. Don't let that happen to you. You have so much in you and you can't waste it or let it go to waste. Start looking forward to the greatness that's in you. Don't just look forward to it. You have to move forward towards it to get it done. You are in control. You just got to quit playing so soft. You have to quit dwelling in your circumstances and your past failures. There is a difference between starting over and give it up. You keep giving into your weakness and not giving in when it comes to your strengths. Let your strengths overtake you. Now I get it. Being in your comfort zone feels good. Even though it feels good, nothing ever grows there. You got to realize that the greatest strengths don't come from the muscles, but it comes through a heart that refuses to quit. I need you to keep looking forward to your dreams and believe that you can achieve them. You can't get to a place that you don't believe exists. Every day you need to grow into your best and strongest self. You got to understand that you are not where you want to be, but you are right where you meant to be. Take charge of your mind, body, and life. Be proud of who you are and know who you are. You can't be a success if you don't know who you are. And you have to be able to describe your vision for yourself this time next year or five years from now. Your vision is all about what you are looking forward to in your life. Ask yourself this. Ask yourself, what is my passion? What brings me life? When you think about those things, then you need to start pursuing it. See, you are too busy doing things that you are not passionate about. You're too busy doing things that don't bring you life. As long as you keep doing those things, you will have nothing to look forward to. A lot has been taken out of you. A lot of passion, a lot of support, a lot of endurance, and now you're feeling tired, unappreciated, and unfulfilled. But now is the time to recharge yourself. You need to adjust yourself so that you can embrace the season in your life. That's the only way you're going to start looking forward to things again. You got to quit going through the motions in life and begin controlling your emotions in an effort to be the person you want to be. You got to understand that who you were is not who you are right now. And who you are right now is not who you are going to become. There's levels to this thing called life. As long as you keep looking forward to greater things, then greater things will come your way. You just got to let it happen and quit hitting the do not disturb button when it comes to your life. Quit making promises and start making effort. Promises don't matter. Effort does. I need you to remove every obstacle that's hindering you from living out your dreams and purpose for your life. It has to go. You have so much to look forward to and achieve. There are things you should have achieved 10 years ago, but you have allowed your obstacles and challenges to distract you and put you further behind. Where are you going to get it together, man? You keep missing out because you keep dealing yourself a bad hand. Not only you've dealt yourself a bad hand, you turn around and play the bad hand that you dealt yourself. Throw that hand back in and deal yourself a hand that's worth playing. This is your game. This is your life. Play it to your advantage. I'm going to leave you with this. Keep looking forward to your dreams and desires for your life. Never lose vision on what you want. Proverbs 29 chapter 18 verse says, where there is no vision, the people perish. Your vision is the ability to picture your future. When you have vision, it gives you the capacity to see beyond obstacles and limitations. Again, let me ask you, what are you looking forward to in your life? The day you find that out, then next, you will be the one who makes someone look forward to tomorrow.
