Welcome to Real Talk with Reginald D. I'm your host, Reginald D. On today's episode, we're going to talk about being content with your efforts. Let's jump in. Your effort is the most powerful thing you possess. Your effort will determine most of, if not all of your life's outcomes. Your effort will determine if you win or lose. Your effort will determine if you get or don't get when it comes to this thing called life. Nothing is going to be handed to you. The only way you're going to achieve your dreams and goals is through your effort. Your effort is going to set the standard on who you are in life and in this world. You're either going to be great or lack greatness. The little your effort, the more mediocre you will become. The more effort you put into something, the greater you will become at doing it. Let me ask you a question. What do you want to be great at? Once you realize it, then put all your effort towards it. I often hear people say that a person has it better than them because they had a leg up in life. They grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. Now I get it. Some people may have had a better structure to success when they were growing up because how their parents taught them or what they gave them. But I always looked at it like this. When I graduated high school, I felt like I was as good as everybody else that grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. You know why? It's because we all achieved the same thing. We'd all been going to school 12 years to get it, and that was to graduate. We achieved the same thing on the same day. Until this day, I have achieved more than the kids that grew up having basically everything. I grew up in a single-parent home. but still achieve more than some of my friends that grew up in a prominent home with a mother and father in the house. And the reason I achieve more is because I simply put in more effort to achieve the things that I like. Effort breeds success, man. It doesn't matter where you come from or how you were raised. Your effort is your life's difference maker. I guarantee you right now. that every area in your life that has lag is due to you not putting in enough effort towards it. Let's look at it this way. If you want money, then you're going to have to put in the effort and go to work. You got to put in the effort and be on time. You got to put in the effort and go over and beyond. Put in the effort to make sure the job gets done. That's how you get promoted. With promotion is what? More money, right? It's all about your effort. Let me be real with you. Now, some of y'all know that you're not going to accomplish too much out of your life because of the little effort you are putting into it. Let me ask you this. Why put a little effort and still don't achieve anything? If you're going to put in the effort, you might as well put in enough to achieve what you desire for your life. I need you to understand. Once you start achieving things in your life, then you will be content with your efforts. Some people say we shouldn't be content with our efforts. It's okay to be content with your effort. Just don't be content with your results. Always strive for more. Always want more for your life. That's the way you're going to feel accomplished. This is what trips me out. When I hear people talk about how unfair their life is, All the while they are lazy as they can be. And it's simple to me. Do nothing, get nothing. Do more, get more. I need you to understand that as long as you are putting in the effort, don't be discouraged because you haven't seen the results yet. I need you to know that God is going to honor your efforts. He is working it out while he's working on you through the process. Always remember that effort is preparation and hard work. Effort is those two things together. You can't do one and not the other and then call it effort. You can't prepare for something and then don't put the work in. Effort is the missing ingredient to your success in life. Without effort, your life will not have success. This is critical. Surround yourself with people that appreciate your efforts. Effort takes work and people should appreciate that from you. Do you know that some relationships don't last simply because of effort? It's not money or infidelity like most people think. It's effort. Most relationships and marriages don't last because one person is putting in all the effort and the other person is doing nothing. Your efforts will play a pivotal role in your success. It doesn't matter if it's in a career or a relationship. You have to cherish the effort that you put in to make your life better. Cherish your efforts. Be content with it. If someone doesn't appreciate your efforts, then stop trying to please them. If they don't appreciate your efforts, then they don't deserve you. You can only do your best. If people can't appreciate that, then it's not your problem. It's theirs. Let me tell you this about me. When I'm trying to get something accomplished, I love the effort part more than I love the accomplishment part. And people think I'm weird when I tell them that. I have a competitive nature about me. I love the grind, the hard work, the sacrifice it takes to achieve the goal. Most people want the goal and not the effort and grind it takes to get there. When I set out to achieve a goal, my mind tells me I can achieve it simply because I see it. If I can see it, then I can achieve it. So all I got to do is work the process, put in the effort and grind to get it. And once I achieve it, then I'm like, oh, well, what's next? I let everybody else celebrate the victory or achievement because I'm moving on to the next thing. I don't like the attention part of things. I love grinding in silence. That's when I'm the most effective. I don't need a bunch of noise around me when I'm trying to achieve something. I like to be five steps ahead of everybody else, especially when it comes to my team and me being the leader. My team thinks I'm over the top sometimes. But like I told them, if we fail, then it's on me. That's why it's important to put in the effort to make things happen. So you have to understand if you fail from the lack of effort, then it's on you. If you don't take the responsibility of putting in the effort to achieve your dreams and desires, then it's on you. If you don't take the responsibility of putting in the effort to achieve your dreams and desires, then somebody else will be living it for you. This is your dream, and you've got to grab it and don't let go. So you can't get to your dreams because you keep letting it go. You keep grabbing hold to it and then let it go. I need you to grab hold of your dreams and never let it go. Put in the effort, man. So since it's like a ladder, you can't climb it with your hands in your pockets. If you want it, then you're going to have to grab hold of it. Take your hands out of your pockets. Quit expecting something when you're not putting in the effort. Don't play tricks with your mind like that. If you trust God and do your part, You will need a whole team to be able to handle what God is about to do for you. Your purpose is bigger than what you think. It's bigger than what you can see. You are still watching snippets and commercials about your life. The movie about your life has not even started yet. I need you to put in the effort to be great so the movie of your life can start. Those commercials you've been watching about your life been over. Commercials are nothing but the same old same old. Let's get to the movie about you. I need you to understand that success is measured by how much effort you gave and how much it paid off. Effort equals results. No effort, no results. Be who you say you're going to be. Don't be a fake flower for nobody. Being fake will not give you the flow that you need for your life. Water has no effect on fake flowers. Be who you are because that's who God created. Cherish yourself and do the best for you. You got so much love in your heart. Give yourself some of it. Invest in yourself. Invest in your ability and your gift. You're too busy trying to fight for your spot in this thing called life. Walk in your power and your true self. and create your own spot. Quit worrying about being at the head of the table, operating your gift. Then you can shift the whole room. Forget that table. If you walk in power, your power will set that table outside in the middle of the street with the people still sitting at it. They got the table, but you got the whole room. When you walk in your true power, things submit to you. Be the CEO of your life. You start running things. You need to start making executive decisions about your life. When a CEO makes an executive decision, everyone has to follow it. Be the CEO of your life. You are in charge. I'm going to leave you with this. Never give up on your dreams just because you think it's taking too long to accomplish it. Rise up. Have a fresh start every day. Valuing your secrets, achievements, and your lessons. Be content in who you are. Don't worry about who don't like you, because not everybody has good taste. Thank you for tuning in to Real Talk with Reginald D.
