Hello everybody.

 Welcome back to Real Talk With Reginald D.  So glad you can join me today. 

Let's keep talking about life. Let me ask you a question. What do you want and desire in life? What are you trying to achieve and how are you going to get there? Let's talk about that. The one thing you should desire is happiness for your life. That's the biggest thing you should desire because all the other stuff will fall right under that. I need you to know that desire is the key to motivation. If you don't have desire, then you will not be motivated. I need you to desire to be real. Don't be fake.  

In this thing called life, you're going to have to stay real to every situation that comes your way. Being real is going to make you make some tough choices and situations in life. This is necessary when it comes to being real. 

Listen, in this thing called life, your desire can't be weak. You must have an intense burning desire for what you want out of life. An intense burning desire is the motivational force that enables you to overcome all obstacles and achieve almost anything that you're striving for. Now you have to make sure the thing that you desire has an effect on the people that are close to you. Remember that because they are going to help you keep your desire lite.

I need you to understand that family is important. Some of you have kids and some of you have spouses. The thing that you desire could be game changing for you and them. I also need you to realize that some people that are close to you are selfish and won't be there for you in the things you desire. Or they won't even be there, period in the things you are going through. Don't let that discourage you or break your heart. You just need to change the way you look at them. Because now you see what you got. Sometimes all you need is you and God. He said, delight yourself in Him and he will give you the desires of your heart. Forget people that don't give a darn about you or what you are feeling or what you're going through. You keep chasing what you desire and let other folks figure their own issues out. 

You know, I told you to understand this thing called life. You're going to have to change.  Your desire to change must be greater than your desire to stay the same. You need to remember this. The starting point of all achievements is desire. 

Now let's talk about achieving what you desire. In order to achieve something, you must first see it and then believe that you can achieve it. If you can't see it, then it's not there. Don't go for it. For instance, if you can't see someone changing, then don't go to the altar with them. In this thing called life, when you are trying to achieve the thing you desire. It's going to take courage and it's going to take strength. But don't give up. I need you to understand that achieving a goal is nothing. But getting there is everything.  In achieving what you desire, you’ve got to trust yourself and that thing that's burning inside of you.  That thing that's burning inside of your belly, that's desire. Desire is telling you, let's go, let's do this. 

Check this out. Desire will not stop pulling at you until you start achieving the things that you desire. Listen to this. Most people don't achieve what they desire because it looks too challenging. It looks horrible. Have you ever seen someone climb a mountain? It looks very tough when they are trying to get to the top of the mountain, right? But once they get to the top of the mountain, the view is the most beautiful view that you can ever imagine. What am I saying? It's going to be tough to achieve what you desire. But you have to realize that achieving what you desire is priceless. 

Remember, challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. Here's the thing. I dare you to chase after the thing you desire and then achieve it. Because once you achieve it, achieving your desires will become an addiction. All you got to do is achieve it one time and it will change you. 

Listen, you have to make sure the thing that you're trying to achieve is challenging you. Because if it's small, you will quit. Some people desire to make $100,000 per year, but is walking around with multimillion dollars inside of them. They have ideas that's worth millions that they haven't even tapped into yet. Let me ask you a question. Is that you? That's why I always say that you can't let people stand in your way. You got so much value inside of you. Don't let circumstances change your desire. Achieve what you desire and it will change your life. 

I remember when my grandfather was teaching me how to cut grass. We had this old push mower. See, I'm not like some of you all. You all started out on riding lawn mowers and self-propelled mowers and things like that. You all are not real grass cutters. We had an old push mower. {laughter] We were real grass cutters. So anyway, I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to cut in a straight line. I kept going all over the yard. My grandfather was out there with me, patiently trying to teach me how to cut grass, right? We were out there so long that we had to stop and go eat and come back. Now, by this time, the grass should have been cut. I kept trying and it finally came to me what he was trying to teach me, what he was trying to tell me. So now I'm cutting grass exactly how he was trying to teach me. My grandfather came up to me and he said, what inside of you changed to make you do this thing right? I said I didn't change, Papa. I just learned. 

What am I saying? In achieving what you desire, you don't have to change for nobody. You just have to learn from your past and learn from your moments. Now, let's talk about how you're going to achieve what you desire. How are you going to get there? First, you got to set goals, right? Listen, a goal that is properly set is already halfway reached. Next, you're going to have to go for it. You're going to have to stay motivated, inspired and driven. You have to take it by force. And don't let nobody tell you, you can't achieve what you desire. Hang up the phone on them. You don't have time for that kind of stuff. You're about to do something that is going to change your children's life, and your family's legacy. I told you that you got so much inside of you, so much power. You have to protect what you desire with everything you got. And you have to understand, no matter where you go in life, you have to stay in control. 

I need you to be like a lion. A lion roars and attacks when somebody is in its territory. So guess what? A lion is always roaring because he is the king of the whole jungle. Every territory is his. What am I saying? No matter where you go in life, you’re still in charge. And you still got the power. 

God said, wherever the sole of your feet shall thread, you shall possess it. That means that you got the power to be successful wherever you go. And whatever you do now, 

I'm going to leave you with this. Just because your path is different doesn't mean you're lost. And remember, in life, always do what is right, not what is easy. In all that you do continue to show love, even if it's tough love.
