Real Talk With Reginald D - Merchandise

Welcome to Real Talk with Reginald D. I'm your host, Reginald D. In today's episode, I'm going to talk about the importance of knowing the truth about you. Let's jump right in. A lot of people live a life of confusion. A lot of people live a life of frustration. And most of all, a lot of people live a life of disappointment because they don't understand the truth about themselves. You have to understand before you move forward or progress in your life, you first have to know the truth about you. And then you have to accept the truth about you. Because if you don't, you will do one or two things. You will limit yourself or you will overwhelm yourself. When you are true to yourself, then you can fix yourself. You can fix your flaws. Knowing the real truth about you will keep you from denial. I've heard people say that they can't make ends meet. They often say that they need more money to make it in life. And in our reality, they don't need more money. They need to just make the money they have work for them and quit mishandling it by splurging all the time or record spending. So you got to realize that anything you mishandle will not bring full fruitfulness to you. That's why you see people that get more money are still broke. It's because they haven't faced the truth about themselves when it comes to their finances. It's not the amount of money issue, but it's a mishandling issue. I can relate to that because there was one point in my life that it seems like I was strapped for money and I couldn't figure it out. Well, I didn't want to figure it out because I didn't want to deal with the truth about me. I used to be the kind of guy that would go out to eat at least four nights a week and then turn around and buy groceries for the whole week on top of that. I had the same routine every week. Even though I went out to eat just about every night, I still had to pack the refrigerator full of food. And guess what? After so long, if you don't cook the food you bought, guess what happens? It goes bad, right? That's what happened with me. I was just wasting money buying stuff that I wasn't going to cook because I ate out about every night. But then I began to deal with myself and look at the truth about me. The truth is I grew up poor and a lot of times there was hardly any food in the refrigerator. So in my mind, when I got older, that was one of the things I always thought about. I felt like I needed to fill the refrigerator up with food all the time because I grew up not having a lot of food. Once I realized why I was doing it, then it allowed me to change what I was doing. Once I understood the truth about me, then it forced me to make a decision. I was either going to eat out every night or I was going to buy groceries and cook most nights of the week, but not both. So I took the cheapest route and bought groceries and cooked most nights. It amazed me how much money I was saving each week. All the while I thought I needed more money, but in all reality, I just had to face the truth about how I was handling or mishandling my money. When you understand the truth about you, you should understand that you are not living a life of lack. You are living in a life that requires you to understand the real truth about you. Let me tell you the truth about you. You are no less than anybody else. You just have to dream bigger. Quit allowing your circumstances to be your truth because it's not. The truth about you is that you are capable of overcoming or rising above your circumstances. So you understand the truth about your situation, then understand where you're trying to go in life, and then understand the real truth about the power within you is most of the battle. All you got left is to put in the effort. That's it, man. The biggest part of wisdom is knowing the truth about you. When you understand the truth about you, then nobody can tell you anything different. And you have to understand that you have a hidden self. It contains everything you know about yourself, but you try to keep it a secret from yourself. The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself about you because it's going to make you feel like you are not worth the truth and you are. Here's another thing about you or another truth about you. You have what's called an unknown self. That means that there is a truth about you that you or others don't know. The truth is there is more greatness in you, more ability, more power, more gifts, more talents, more and more and more. That's the truth about you that is unknown. You need to tap into the unknown about you. It will blow your mind what you will find out about yourself. Realizing your unknown potentials will make you one of the most beautiful chapters in the book of life. You can't let yourself be identified with your past. Because the truth about you is that you are not your past anymore. That's why you can't worry about what people that was in your past say about you, because they are talking about a person that they don't even know anymore. Understanding the truth about you could be a hard pill to swallow, but you won't choke. Knowing the truth about you will help you value yourself more, because you will understand what drives you and what you need to do to take care of yourself. You may be looking at your life and saying to yourself that you don't know how you deal with life day in and day out. It's because you wasn't given a choice but to deal with it. I need you to understand that the truth about you, you are all you need. If you are confused or not sure what to do next, just ask yourself. Have confidence in yourself because when you are confident in yourself, then you will have more self-esteem about yourself. Life is tough sometimes and I know it. But you got to understand that you will see the truth about you if you stay in the fight. Get in your mind that you are not allowed to quit. I'm going to be honest with you. It will become a time when everything in your life is going to tell you to quit. I need you to understand that it's okay to be tested. That will show the truth about how strong you really are. Sometimes not getting what you want is the best thing that can happen to you because it makes you deal with the truth on why it didn't happen for you and what you got to do to make it happen for you. I need you to understand that when people succeed, they party, and when people fail, they ponder. I need you to realize that you can't bypass the hard realities of life. You can't create a world that conforms to your desires, but you can create a life that conforms to your desires. Every obstacle you have is working for you and against you. That's the truth. You just have to believe it and accept it. See, the truth about you is that you can overcome anything that you're facing. And see, when you understand that about you, you don't only know the truth, you know a truth, and that truth is you. I need you to understand that this is your life. You got to stand up to pain. You got to stand up to failure. You got to show your situation the truth about you. Here's the truth about you. You were not meant to lose in life. You are meant to win. You got to understand that about you. That's the truth about you. You were made to go through the storms. You were made to overcome adversity. You are built for it. I need you to understand this truth about you. You were not made to lay down on your life. Quit trying to comfort you and start conquering you. I need you to understand that when you are in a fight, you can't be comfortable. You got to rise up and conquer it. And listen, in order to conquer something, you got to first rise up. You got to face it. Here's the thing. You need to appreciate where you are in your journey, even if it's not where you want to be. Every season of your life serves a purpose. I need you to allow yourself to be proud of yourself and all the progress you've made, especially the progress nobody else could see. Being proud of yourself will help you understand the truth about you. In understanding the truth about you, you have to understand yourself. Why do you keep doing what you're doing? That's the question you need to ask when you're trying to understand yourself. Next, you have to respect yourself. You have to respect yourself enough to change what you're doing. You need to change the things that make you less than who you are. Then you got to love yourself more. The more you love yourself, the more you will strive to be the best for yourself. A successful life requires falling in love with yourself first. Don't just be proud of your successes, but also be proud of the person you are inside. Be proud of who you are becoming. You have to know that when you're trying to understand the truth about you. that it's all about you. In this question, understanding the truth about you, you can't make everybody else happy because you would end up making yourself miserable. You don't have to prove yourself to people because some people will value your success, but not your journey to your success. They don't care about the grind. They don't care about what it took for you to get there. They don't care about how many times you fail. They don't care about all the sacrifices you made. All they care about is when you succeed because now they feel like you can give them a piece of your success without them even working for it. Some people are just like that. You ever seen somebody date a person and the person is a good person but doesn't have a lot of money but they are working on a plan to better themselves and during the process the other person breaks up with them because they are not financially stable like they want them to be. Then all of a sudden, the person starts doing well, and then their ex won't come back to them. See, they wanted the success but don't want the process. You can't be with me when I got, if you can't be with me when I'm not. I'm going to leave you with this. When understanding the truth about you, you have to realize that you have your own cross that you must bear. Life is tough, but the reward for your life is going to be greater. You just got to put in your mind when things get tough, tell yourself, I've been here before. That will let you know that you can win again. You just got to trust the process and respect the process. And the way you respect the process is by working the process. Whatever you do, understand the real truth about you. And remember the truth always comes out in the wild.
