Real Talk With Reginald D - Merchandise

Welcome to Real Talk with Reginald D.   I'm your host, Reginald D.

In today's episode, I'm going to talk about protecting you in this thing called life. Let's jump right in. What do you do to protect yourself? What do you do to protect your feelings and emotions? The reality is most people protect everything except themselves. They protect their kids, they protect their careers, but they don't protect themselves. You have to understand that you owe it to yourself to protect you. In trying to go for the things you desire, you have to understand that you have to have inner peace in life. If you don't, you will stay distracted and won't get anything accomplished. If you allow people and circumstances to interrupt your life, then you will fail. You have to realize in life, everything is not for you. It's not for your destiny. The most powerful weapon you have in the world is you. You have to understand that your gift and purpose is all you got. God created you and put you on the earth just for that. That's why you exist, man.

Listen, people take on so much stuff in life that they don't need to. If it serves no purpose and you don't love it, then get rid of it. You've heard the phrase spring cleaning. That's when people get rid of stuff in their lives that they don't need or no longer brings value in their life. In order to get what you desire in life, you have to get rid of the things that's not bringing value. You have to realize that you have so much going for you. You can't allow people and situations to make you feel less than. You have to realize when you are dealing with you, you may have to go alone, but guess what? You still have to go. Depend on you.

Check this out. When pursuing what you desire for your life, you can't make everybody important in your life. That's when you will tend to lose your value in your life and their life. Let me ask you this. What is your next step in your life? What is your desire? What is your passion? Listen, you can't compare your life with someone else's. Your life is your life. It's waiting on you to make it great. It's waiting on you, man. Now, you know life is tricky. It will take your situations and make you think about things that's not true. Just because your relationship or marriage didn't work doesn't mean it's you that messed it up. Just because your job laid you off doesn't mean you were a terrible employee. It just means that God has something better for you. And sometimes he has to push people and things out of your life for you to realize.

For instance, I'm on my third marriage. My first marriage, we were too young and it didn't work. My second marriage, we agreed on her coming to be with me because we were in different states, and I was the breadwinner. Well, she decided she wanted me to quit my career and move where she was, which didn't make no sense. She didn't make enough to support both of us. She didn't have to work if she decided to move here with me. Then I married the wife I have now and she is remarkable. I say this to say this, just because my previous marriages didn't work doesn't mean I had to give up. I didn't look down on myself. I tried to be the best I could be. Then God gave me the wife that was best for me.

You have to understand, just because things don't work doesn't mean it's not for you. God is trying to put you in the right situations to make things happen in your life. You got to understand that you have to walk in who you are and everything else will follow. Now daily life struggles are real. So in order to keep the anxiety down and not be robbed of your happiness, you have to walk in your purpose and nobody else's. Remember you have to trust God and you. God said, if you delight yourself in him, he would give you the desires of your heart.

In protecting you, don't criticize yourself for falling short on things in life. It's called being human. You just got to get up and readjust and do it again. Your greatness and your legacy is on you. You're the only one that can do it no matter how tough life gets.

I remember being on a plane and the turbulence was crazy. The plane was rocking like crazy. The pilot came over to speak and he said he was taking the plane higher to get out of the turbulence. No matter how rocky life gets, you have to rise above it. You're in control, believe that. You got to grind and give your life what it deserves. It deserves your gift and your passion.

When I think about the word you, it's spelled Y-O-U. So if you pronounce it like that, it's Y-O-U, right? You have to understand in life, you got to quit owning yourself and start paying yourself off. You owe yourself so much and your life so much. It's time to start giving your life what you owe it. You have to believe in yourself and know that there's something inside of you that is greater than any situation that you will face. Life is nothing but winning and producing results.

My grandfather used to tell me to surround myself with people who believe in my dreams. Guess what? I surrounded myself with me because I believed in me more than anybody. Even though my grandfather believed in me, he couldn't live out my dreams. It was on me.

People are going to think you're weird when you are protecting you and doing what's best for your purpose. When you are protecting your gift, people are going to think that you have lost your mind. Some of my friends don't understand me. Some think I'm conceited and don't want to be around them, but that's not true. I have a purpose that I'm trying to fulfill so that it takes a lot of my time. Just because I don't come to the barbecue doesn't mean I'm stuck up. I like barbecues, but you can't call me the day before and invite me because I'm just busy trying to do me. My gift and my purpose is all I have and it's all I have to give in this thing called life. See, in life, you can't get caught up in being liked because you will end up forgetting to be respected.

Check this out. In protecting your life, you have to know your own strength, so you won't end up being vulnerable. People are vulnerable because they don't know who they are. They don't know the power they have inside of them. When you don't know your own strength, somebody will take advantage of you. You can't let that happen. Always stay strong, stay positive, and don't regret being you. You are special and valuable, and if people don't like it, they have to figure it out.

Listen, some people can't handle valuable things, bottom line. I'm gonna leave you with this. You are more than just a job you work. You are more than a husband or a wife. You are more than a parent. You were created by God with a gift and a purpose that has to be fulfilled. Everything else in your life is just a blessing, but you are here for a specific reason that will change your life if you walk in it. Trust you and what's inside of you.

Now, as a big thank you to my supporters, I decided to do a giveaway. Once the portal will receive the following prizes, a $100 Amazon gift card, a 30-minute life coaching session with me, a Real Talk with Reginald t-shirt, and a journal. The giveaway details are in the show notes.
