Welcome to Real Talk with Reginald D's motivational coaching question and answer segment. I'm your coach, Reginald D. I'm so glad you're here because today's episode is all about finding strength when you're in the middle of a struggle. Today's episode is inspired by a question from one of my listeners. He writes, Reginald D, how can I find strength when I'm in the middle of struggling? That question hit home for me because let's be real, life is full of those moments. I have been there, you've been there, and if you're in that season right now, this episode is just for you. Today, I'm going to share a story from my life, talk about how I learned to find strength in the struggle, bring in some scripture, and give you a practical tool that I call upholding the ball. And always, we'll wrap up with a challenge for the week ahead. Sound good? Let's get to it. Let's start with the reality of what struggle feels like when you're in it. It's messy, it's overwhelming, and sometimes it feels endless. And you know what? It's okay. So often we think we have to be strong all the time. But strength isn't always about being invincible. Sometimes it's just about getting up one more time, even when you're tired. Struggle isn't a sign of weakness. It's a part of life, part of growing. So if you're in the middle of a struggle right now, I want you to know you're not alone. We all have those moments when life feels like too much. And it's in those moments that we learn who we really are. Let me tell you about a time when I was struggling like never before. I'm talking about a season in my life where everything that could go wrong did. I had lost my job. My savings were gone. And on top of it, I fell into a deep depression. It was one of those moments when you look up to God and ask why. I remember sitting in my house one night, wondering how I was going to make it. I felt so alone, like nobody had my back. But as I sat there, this quiet thought came to me. Reginald, what is the strength you're looking for isn't something you're going to feel right now, but something you have to choose to believe is there. It was like God was telling me that strength wasn't going to come to me in the form of a feeling. It was going to come to me in the form of faith. Faith that there was a reason for what I was going through. Faith that God was with me even in that dark season. That moment changed the way I looked at strength. It showed me that strength isn't always about what you can see or feel in the moment. Sometimes it's about holding on to hope and believing in things that aren't yet visible. You know I can't talk about strength without bringing up some scripture, right? There's a verse that's been my rock in times of struggle. Isaiah 40 chapter 31st verse. It says, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint. Family, let me tell you something. This verse is powerful. It's telling us when we put our hope in God, our strength isn't just restored, it's renewed. And I love that word renewed because it doesn't just mean we get back to where we were. It means we're made even stronger than before. So if you're feeling weary today, if you're tired from the struggle, remember that God is in the business of renewal. You're not just surviving the struggle. You're being prepared for something greater. Now I want to give you a tool that helps me so much in times of struggle. I call it unholding the ball. Here's what I mean by that. Imagine holding a ball underwater. It takes effort, constant pressure to keep it submerged. That ball represents all the things you're carrying, worries, stress, fear, doubt. The longer you try to hold it down, the more energy you use. Eventually, you'll get tired and the ball's going to come up anyway. But here's the key. When you let go of the ball, it rises. The struggle you're feeling doesn't go away. But when you let go of trying to control everything or trying to be the source of your own strength, you release that weight. The energy you were using to hold things down can now go towards lifting you up. Unholding the ball means letting go and trusting God to carry you. It's saying, I don't have to have all the answers. I don't have to have it all figured out right now. So if you were in a struggle, I want you to take a moment this week to let go of that ball. Stop trying to control every piece and trust that God has got it in his hands. One more thing I want to say is about taking small steps. Sometimes we get overwhelmed thinking we have to take giant leaps to overcome our struggles, but family. Strength is found in small, consistent steps forward. Maybe today is just getting out of the bed, saying a prayer, or reaching out to someone for support. Whatever it is, don't discount the small victories. Those small steps matter. Every single one adds up and builds a foundation of strength. So today, let's start small. Let's focus on one thing that we can do right now, even in the middle of our struggle. You'll be amazed at how far these little things will take you when you look back. All right, fam, it's time for your challenge for the week ahead. I want you to practice unholding the ball. Here's how you do it. You first need to identify what you're holding on to. It could be fear, anxiety, stress, or control. Write it down if you need to. Then release it to God. This could be through prayer, meditation, a moment of quiet, or even speaking it aloud. Say, God, I'm letting go. I'm trying to carry this all on my own. I'm trusting you with this struggle. Now I need you to take one small step every day to build your strength. It could be reading scripture, reaching out to a friend, or doing something kind for yourself. Focus on those small victories and let them remind you that you're moving forward. Now, this week is about finding strength, not about carrying everything on our own, but by letting go and trusting God's strength. You're stronger than you think, not because you have all the answers, but because you have faith. And that faith, when it's placed in God, is enough to carry you through. To my listening, thank you for the question, and I truly hope it helps you and any other listener who may be feeling this way today. Now, don't forget to send your questions to me via email at rsherman at realtalkwithresidentd.com or visit my website at RealtalkwithReginald.com or message me on my social media platforms. Every step you take, every bit of faith you hold on to, is building a strength that no struggle can take away. And remember that we're all in this thing together. Until next time, keep walking in faith, keep letting go, and let God lift you up.
